Any of you guys have any wreck numbers out of Oregon Inlet south to Morehead. I have all the maps and know 99% of them is crap. I have 3 or 4 numbers for every wreck. I'm tired of looking. I dont care how basic wreck it is, I will even take the AR wreck numbers if there real dead on numbers. Any help thanks. Anyone can pm me here, or email if your want a trade or cash for somthing special.

??????????????????????????????????????
I hear crickets...
When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun.
Crickets here because they used the email I provided grasshopper. Remember cash is king. Yes, everything is for sale.
Have you tried Google Earth? It seems to list lots of wrecks and coordiantes including ARs.
For years I've looked at Google Earth, AWOIS, websites, and all kinds of fishing fourms. I've and collected numbers for years now. What I've found out from all of it is, whats on the net is a joke. Mabey, mabey, one out of a hundred wreck numbers is a real number. Most are just ball park. I'm sure mistakes are from a few things, as in loran numbers being program converted to gps numbers. Everyone that has a clue about this, knows what a joke that was. You have to think back, the beginning of GPS wasn't that many years ago. First there was only 6 channel recievers, no WAAS and no such thing as DGPS. At that time GPS accuracy was set but the military. I think Clinton was in office when the accuracy was bumped up. It goes on and on, NOAA has a hand in it also. There maps and rasta charts has wrecks like the Nashville wreck out of Wilmington, NC eight miles from its real location today. Thats a wreck that local dive shops have been running to since the late 70's here. Its a common wreck that hundreds of people have real numbers to it. It's still printed wrong today. NC Marine fisheries website post numbers to the AR locations that arn't even close. We have a offshore map sold here in our local tackleshop printed out of Texas. How accurate do you think it is. Bad numbers reprinted and reprinted. Today all maps are still based off converted loran numbers that them themselves was never really accurate from everything from bad offsets, there radio waves shortened or lengthend by clouds, clear skys or rain. Also we have problems of the same shipwrecks being counted as different wrecks by different captians numbers way off loran numbers. Thats another problem we had here localy where two WW2 wrecks are 2.5 miles apart. Older NOAA maps had as many as five wrecks in that location for those 2 wrecks.
Here is the deal, my days on the water are coming to a fast end from a condition I have. I would like to see and enjoy and have some memorys of these wrecks before I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. And thats the honest truth. I don't know another way, other than to just ask. I know gas isn't free, and if somone put in the time to find a wreck, that's time that I don't have anymore, I'm willing to compensate them. I can't expect someone thats not in my situation of urgency to understand that, but thats where I'm at today and I'm still asking for help.

While I'll never fault an Angler who's developed or discovered a fishing location on their own or even found an uncharted wreck. If THEY found the wreck or found the bottom that holds their targeted fish, hey, it's all theirs and they've got every reason to guard their numbers.
However, absolutely no reason in NOT sharing KNOWN wrecks sites? Everyone knows the internet websites have crap for numbers. So, why encourage a fellow angler to use them? It's just wrong.
A number of times over the past two years I've been asked to give presentations to local Angler Clubs on the offshore Virginia wrecks. Being mostly a diver (novice angler) I have very detailed knowledge of the wrecks, what they are, how they lay, where they hold fish, have made sketches, taken photos, and spent countless hours trolling and gathering sidescan images. Information I've shared with Anglers at their meetings...freely, without compensation or consideration.
So what's it mean if you're one of those anglers who secretly guard KNOWN wreck sites? It means you're selfish and have little consideration of your fellow angler.
Look at this guys website. http://www.davyhiteprochip.com/.. They sell chips that will work with most units. I have bought 4 from them, nc, sc, mid-florida, & Biloxi,ms area. I use them for fishing tournament. They show wrecks, oil rigs, towers, ledges, live bottom, reefs, you name it. The one I have for Hatteras goes from Cape Lookout north to the Va. line. It has over 400 waypoints.
