Oh no! another old retired dude. Us young'ns are gonna be out numbered soon.
Welcome aboard Howie. I hope its nothing serious with your regular fishing buddy.
Hi Everybody........My regular fishing buddy is laid up for a while so I could surely use someone to fish with. I usually fish the NW River, West Neck Creek, and Back Bay. I have a 17 foot Nitro Bassboat with a 120 Merc....we can use mine or if you prefer we can use yours. I'm available most any day..;.I'm retired now. Just need a little help with the boat...I can't back up worth a darn. Anyone interested...just send me an email to this site or to homerhowie@verizon.net with your phone number and I'll call you and we'll make plans to go. I don't care if it's yellow perch, crappie, bass, catfish or whatever.
Howie
Or you can call me at 495-2220

Howie I got yur PM but not sure if I am the same dude you are thinking of. However, there is every chance I am and my mind has failed me again. Regardless that, heck yes. I am a ways but not that far. NW River at Bobs Fishin Hole is 75 miles one way. I have a tendency to throw life to the wind and make up for all the cold days I wuss out on when the weather warms and I go on a fishin spree.
I can clear out a day with some notice or keep an open one open.
Howie, I'll take you to NW one day if you'll show me some good places on Back Bay another day.
...and if you need help backing up, I know this cat that lives in Suffolk name Ron. Runs with a dude they call "ACEY"
This Ron character can back up a trailer like nobody's business. Makes Joey Chitwood look like a sissy.
Hi Hog.....Sounds good to me....anytime you want to go to either place, I'll almost for sure be available. Back Bay has started to come back the last couple of years and there are a lot of good places to fish....just not a good place to go when the wind starts whipping up and the water gets rough as hell. Those are the days when I head for West Neck Creek, the North Landing River and the NW River.
I'll be out at NW with a different old friend tomorrow, but have no plans yet for Sat or Sun. Give me a call if you're available or email me your phone number and we'll swap some stories.
Hi Horseshoer....Sounds good to me. Do you live out near Suffolk ? I used to fish Lake Smith, Cahoon and Meade out your way,
but my current boat is too big for those waters now. Never hurts to have too many good fishing buddies...so I'm looking forwaard to getting together and wetting a line with you. I raced my trotters at tracks all up and down the East Coast and spent a ton of money with lots of farriers and just about all of them were good guys ! Most people will never know how many races were won because of the work of a good blacksmith.
This weekend is booked. Rabbit hunting Sat. and then the Daytona "VROOMVROOM" 500 on Sun.
Whoie, do you like NASCAR? Who's your driver??
He told me he's a Jeff Gordon fan.Ron told me to let you all know if any of you need any help backing your boat down any ramps at a bash just ask him and he'll back it down for you.
Actually if you look at the bash pictures you will see one where I'm talking to Ron with my finger pointing at him. I was saying; "That's the last time you back the boat in. From on now I'll do the backing and you sit in the boat."

howie, i'm hog choker's son, and i'm looking forward to fishing with you on NWR and Back Bay sometime soon. have hunted on back bay and rode around a zillion times i guess, but never fished it. have pictures of my grandfather, great uncles and great grandfather fishing Back Bay and catching tons of fish. they used to wade the shallows and catch bass on popping bugs. would love to be able to continue that tradition! (p.s., please don't pay attention to my father, and if you are by some unfortunate twist of fate a jeff gordon fan, it might be best to keep that one under your hat...)
