beach access

havent been to hattaras since last may and most beaches were closed to vehicle access, going back again this may and was wondering if its gotten worse.

I'd expect it to be like last year, but you should check NPS site or OPBA site for latest on closures :(

There's a post on the VA forum that Cape Point is already closed. Anyone have any info?

VCAN ALL,

One of the greatest public access travesties continues. The situation at Cape Hatteras National Seashore is truly sad

I personally believe a peaceful mass protest is needed to move this issue to a proper resolution.

and it just got sadder.........

went down tuesday for the day. cold water and not much happening at ramp 44 so I walked along the water to the Point to check out the flounder I've been hearing about. Didn't fish long but got a couple of keepers inside the hook pretty quickly and saw some nice ones from the guys that had been there all morning. Looked so good I took another day of vacation time and drove my nephew down wednesday morning only to find they were shutting it down even for walking in from 44. Ice, bait, tackle, gas, dissapointed kid, etc etc..
