Doug. I hear reports of the Shad beeing in Pretty good up at Weldon and also have heard a ROOMER that they are being caught in Rockey Mount. I my self have not made a trip yet though...

thanks theredboat!!! left portsmouth in the chilly rain monday and got to weldon in warm sunshine.my first time there so steep learning curve. found the roanoke canal trail. walked a lot of it. didn't do much at the boat ramp but found them near the I-95 bridge. once the shad were located it was game on. beautiful fish, beautiful place and first fish of the season!!!! usually fish fredricksburg but this is a great alternative and can't blow out b/c of the dam. can't figure out how to post the pictures.

Do most of my shad fishing here in Richmond. Just thinking of heading down to Weldon to give them a try, somewhere new. They are now at Richmond in good numbers. Doug.
