now you have me going fish-farm!!!! 60 days!!!! i gong to stay in weldon. nice place!might bring a boat. they do open the spillway so river was kinda swift. a good cast from the bank will do!
When I was a kid I used to stay at a place on the James River that was so full of shad we went almost every evening to have the local fisherman squeeze or cut their fish and we would leave with only the Row. Big piles. We took it home and ate it fresh fried that night and usualy again the next morning for breakfast with the runny yellow yolk of eggs. You dont get better if its that fresh. Like cavior or different livers. Not sure if you can do that any more.

I am no expert but I bet you will start to see fish at Weldon last week of feb....

They have been catching them in Windsor, NC as well.
