Pilotmike,
The biologist in charge of the lake feel there is an abundance of stripers in the lake; perhaps too many. The thought is less fish means less competition for food; resulting in larger fish. They think there are enough fish in the lake now and that the natural spawn will produce enough fish and that stocking would over populate the lake. I'm sure if fall surveys indicate anything different they would stock in 2012 but we don't anticipate that happening. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope this works. It's nice seeing more keeper fish being caught and nice bait. The herring are doing great! Friends are reporting catching 6-12 inch herring in the creeks and other well known areas on the lake.
I hope this info helps.
Thanks man!
