Gary loved the young ladies but I would not start that rumor unless I was 100% sure...............Gary

I personally think this is a positive thing...Gary wasn't getting any younger and his time was limited. Yes its going to be a short term hit but lets c who ends up at the helm...ESPN is reporting the MD opening as a top ten job in college basketball.

Too much of a coincidence that it was the same day JW declared.

Plenty of Gary haters out there, but I always thought and still think he was a great coach. Always loved that the loudest cheers at the introductions were for Gary. How can you not love the passion he had for the game. Always thought he'd be coaching until he stroked out courtside. I'll sorely miss him on the sidelines.

I"ll miss Gary, he was an OUTSTANDING basketball coach. Not the best recruiter but he got the most out of his kids and ran a clean program. Johnny Holiday was on Scott Garceau's radio show today and mentioned Gary has a job in the Athletic Dept waiting for him.
Write a blank check to Brad Stevens and we'd be back in business in two to three years.

I'd give the job to Brenda Frese the women's basketball coach. Her players box out, play good D and make their freethrows. Maybe lure Deano from NC out of retirement as the assistant. With him onm the bench at least we'd start getting some calls in the ACC tourney.

One of double edge sords.. He was a great coach, not the best at recruiting.. We should have had lots more
talnet knocking on the door after back to back final 4's. But change is good, but change can be bad.. Just
sort of on the fence. Heck we have been spoiled, and it could be worse (i,e GT and NCST).

Sad news , I had great respect for his passion for Maryland . He toke control of the basketball program when it was a disaster at the bottom of the ACC and brought it all the way back . Ran a clean program and did not deal with the corrupted AAU coaches. We were blessed to have him at Maryland . Good luck Gary you will be missed
