I've got eight St. Croix rods and have never had a problem with any of them!
Maybe the soultion is to buy more ?!
Or Call St. Croix, they stand behind their stuff.
    Good luck.

Call St. Croix. Should not happen. Have the rods been stored in extreme heat? What model rods are they and how old are they?

I agree, I've fished 6 St. Croixs for the last 8 years, never had one problem and I've exceeded just about everything you could think of...lure weight, line weight, caught 50lb rays and 30lb rock and everything in between. Should not have issues. Sometimes St. Croix will give you a little "resistance" if you have not filed or turned in your reciept/warranty registration. If this happens, try to go back to the store you purchased them from and see if they can help through tqlking ot their St. croix rep....

There are to ways to fix them.
You can strip them and start over or you can cut the blank right behind the reel set, glue seat , splice blank back together with butt sleeve.

The term "good eatin size" is generally used by those that catch small fish.

Nah, those are messed up rods and beyond hope. Give them to me to dispose of properly. ;)
    Keep it clean!

Drill a small hole in the reel seat where the threads and smooth part meet. Drill all the way through the blank. Cut a dowel that will fit snug into the hole. Put 5 min epoxy on dowel rod. Insert dowel into hole and wait for glue to dry. Shouldn't have a problem anymore.
