Default A limit of crabs and rock fish!

We hit the South River this morning and ran into rj. It was good to shoot the breeze in between runs. We started in 14 feet but was on a slack tide and the depth did not produce this week. We moved the line and crabbed 12 feet to 6 feet and loaded up just shy of 2 bushels. The little ones were there too and we probably caught at least two more bushels of throw backs. We stopped by to see Powder and his daughter running the line and they did well too. Made my usual stop to Marty's Tackle shop and gave Liz a few dozen crabs. I called mlag, Mark to come get a half a bushel and he brought me 2 nice rock fish. Another beautiful day on the water. Crab feast tomorrow...........Gary

wow you did much better than most. I was on the west and tried from 2-12 foot and moved the line 3 times with 8 crabs to show for it. I even tried a cove just south of the west river and only got shorts. I spoke with numerous comms and some just gave up early due to lack of action. I spoke with 6comms and no-one even had a bu to sell me they weren't even filling existing orders. I also checked out the rhode and did not see any full baskets and I noticed many people moved their lines.

Deep Water,,,Deep Water,,, best crabs were in 12-14 ft most of the day, not fast & furious , but steady,, a few crabs showed up on the 5 ft shoal later in the day, but most of the good ones were deep,

What a ugly lookin' boat, who would ride around in such a thing?

Rich commented on my motor smoking a bit and my dipper asked him if he needed a tetanus shot to touch his boat! It's always fun to cut up on the water.........Gary

Nice job... I wish I could of made it that easy. It took me 6 hours to get a bushel out of the Severn. I set up 2 - 600' lines, 1 in 8'-12' and 1 in 4'- 6'. Caught 1/2 bushel by 9:30 mostly off the 4'-6' line. We took up the deeper line and ran a fresh 600' line in 2' of water. Caught the other 1/2 bushel on the fresh line in about 2 hours. The last 1/2 bushel were biggens! mostly 6 " to 7".
