Man you kept me in there Saturday. I gotta admit, I was bummin. Man said he thinks the thermostat is stickin. Will be fixed this week. One of these days we'll use this new tower. Your's did great Sat. Always good fishin with you bud.
Pretty much killed the morning and didn't get out til to late. Got to Anthonys at the crack of 9:40am and just as my rods hit the rod holder the overheat alarm goes off. Mess with it for a bit then decide to go in mine. I needed to do some maintenance first so off to Advance for spark plugs, and oil. Change the plugs, fill the oil and go fill it up with fuel.
For those of you that have seen the tower in my little boat, it also goes in my big boat, with the switching out of 8 screws and two bolts. Get the tower in the big boat and finally launch as the wind starts to kick. Get out to the cobia grounds at 12:45 or so and start looking. after 1/2 hour we see the first one. Make the cast with the eel and game on. 55 inches in the boat. Weighed 53 at BRM. Should have let it go.
Fished the rest of the day looking for a fish for Anthony. Finally see it and Anthony makes a perfect cast on a head on cobia. Fish dove with the eel and then . . . Game on as Anthony sets the hook. This fish was about 40lb. Real pretty with good coloration. We quick released the this fish at the side of the boat. Get to looking again and didn't see anything rest of day. Tide started bucking the wind so we headed back in and were back to the dock at 4:45 or so.
All our fish were from 23 south toward 18. Big area I know but one was off 23 and one was off 18. Seems to picking up as many of my buddies caught multiples today.
It ended up being a good day even with the less than spectacular start. Thanks for not giving up Anthony, we made it happen, hopefully some dues were paid today and next time will be epic!

Glad you guys got a few to bite. 53 lbs; that hurts but taste good.
Hope you get your ride taken care of quick there Doc.
We saw 7 today. 1 pup, 2 that were probably just legal and 3 nice ones. All in the same general area you mentioned. No takers. We almost ran over number 7 not too far from Factory Point on the way in.
It's gonna be scorching the rest of the week so be careful out there.
Tight Lines.... Wally
