Default Hurricane prep advice - from my dad

FWIW: My dad asked me to clear out his rain gutters today - then asked me if I had fueled up the truck and had plenty of working flash lights and couple gallons of water.

He's 85 but still looks out for me.

I took his advice and fueled the truck - then cleaned out my rain gutters. One was sorta clogged - I had to smile at old timer wisdom.

Might be worth checking your rain gutters and neighbors if elderly before rain hits hard.

good call Skip - batteries and gas/generators if you got em.

Also - for those with FLOOD Insurance - I recommend a quick call to understand your policy - especially concerning what is covered in basements. On isabel, another foot of surge and my basement would have flooded. I have tools/equipment etc down there. I was not too concerned due my flood coverage. However, I learned later that most of what I have down there IS NOT covered. My foundation, furnaces/freezers etc in most care are. Tools; pool tables etc in most cases are NOT. Know what you have so you can react as you need to.
