Well, Andy and I decided to head to Cape Charles instead of OC only because we got a report that the water looked decent. We caught the last of the flood tide which gave us a glimmer of hope for the first dive at tower reef tug boat which turned out to be a barge. The top 30 feet was gin clear but found only 1 - 2 feet of visibility on bottom.

Next dive was the Brass Spike. Got to the bottom and found zero visibility and I mean zero. I touched my goggles at 74 feet just so I could see SOMETHING. There was nothing we could do on that dive but abort.

We then went to the tower and used up some air playing with spade fish. There was maybe 15 feet of visibility up top and about 2 feet on bottom.

The tower saved us from a completely busted dive trip. We pretty much got what we expected and Andy handled the low visibility conditions very well. So he's seen the worst, I hope the next dives will give up some visibility.

    Dave

    Abort a muck dive ? You pu$$y .

Shame the bottom viz. went to sh*t but not uncommon around here.

The really fun muck dives are when " some thing " touches your mask for you .

Hopefully we get a nice 5-6 day high pressure system to clear every thing up.

Go on now Skip! lol It's called the Brass Spike for a reason. Didn't want to get one up my arse without at least some flatties to show for it.

Gonna try OC in October if Andy can swing it. Room for one more diver on the Seacraft...

Let me know - if I can get free , you know I'll go.

Smart calling the dive on a site you do not know well - when viz. gets that bad.
