    Default old fishing reel

    my detecting buddy and i went looking for gold on thur. and not fish.
    he finds this old fishing reel.....appears to be old Shakesphere.

    looking info. and whatever you can share regarding it.

    this reel is a Shakespeare service model GE. It was patented in 1944.

    You can see some of the line coming out of it (what looks like mono) but the rest of the spool is covered in muck. It wouls be intreasting to see what this reel wouls look like in a newer condition.
