Unhappy Catchin 4 kids tournament sad news

Your not going to believe what they did to the tournament this year. Pull up their website and check out the new rules for entry and weigh in.

They have taken the tournament out of oceans east where you could bring your fish by truck or trailered boat and made it a weigh in by boat only at 3 different locations. They have eliminated the night fishing and made the fishing time from 6:30am to 2pm each day. The told tom at oceans east just a few weeks ago that his place was not big enough for the tournament, but they still wanted him to supply the free shrimp... He told them no.... Tom at oceans east started this tournament 8 years ago and got all the sponsors along with free food and help from volunteers and for this they say your not good enough for us.

They just about eliminated most people with boats 21 foot and less from fishing. Trying to cross the bay two times a day is very dangerous and sometimes impossible. I encourage everyone to let them know of your feelings on this matter on tidal fish. Maybe we can get things changed with some support.

They are also telling you that you must fly their flag on the starboard side of your boat or get disqualified. I cant believe what I am seeing.

Just talked to Rick williams who is on the committee. They have changed the rule for smaller boats at the weigh in. They will be allowing small boats to trailer from eastern shore to the weigh in. The new weigh in is at Vinings Marine on shore drive. When you cross the bay bridge tunnel coming back from eastern shore you make a right at the first exit (shore drive). Vinings Marine is about 5 miles down on the right. You have to be in line by 4pm sat. and sun. The fishing times are from 6:30am to 2:00pm each day. Just wanted to let everyone know the committee changed that rule.

Weed, you dont have to trailer the boat over there. This is what captain rick told me over the phone. They will have the details at the captains meeting at Vinings marine. They didnt realize how many people trailered their boats over there. Hope the rule changes dont hurt the entries.
