    Default Potomac River 11/25/2011

Here are a couple of Amateur Videos of some Catfish Friday. We ended up with two fish at 28 lbs but they aren't on the Videos. River was high and Muddy and a little dangerous for me. I think total was 7 fish with 5 above 20 lbs.

Nice fish-looks like a fun day, even with all that airplane traffic haha. One thing I can't find any information on is how to get gizzards in the winter, do you find them in deep water or around discharges or something? I've been using perch but don't think it works quite as well.

You can net 'em deep, but they can be found in shallow water year round. Look for marshy mud flats, especially on a receeding tide, and especially right before sunup. Works for me anyway. I prefer the gill net in shallow water.
