Jason Poole charges $325.00 for a shoulder mount this year. Good work but not the best. My taxidermist is $550.00. Jason is doing a European mount for me for $90.00. My walls are full and my wallet is empty..................Gary

I have just chained the head to a tree in the woods behind the house and it takes a few months, but it works.

You can bury them too but rodents chew on them there and chained on a tree. Insects are not active in the winter either...................Gary

That's true. I had done one during late September, and it took about a month and a half. Anyway, my neighbor must just wait through the winter or something till it's done, because unless he take the deer to a butcher because he doesn't want to butcher himself, he chains the head in the woods...
