NOAA count my fish registration

Are there any more requirements for fishing the potomac or VA waters with a MD license? Do I need to register somewhere with the state of VA or the Potomac to fish those waters in order to be NOAA compliant?

The title of this thread is NOAA registration, however it is actually State registration requirements that we need to pay attention to (and the individual states will report their state license and registration info to NOAA).

Per the information in link provided by Terp in the post above, if you have an MD boat license that covers you while fishing in VA you need to register for free with VA; In addition, if its a MD boat license any passengers that fish on your boat would also have to register with VA unless they have a VA license (and of course the passengers would also have to register in MD to fish in MD unless they had an MD license).

I am not sure about the Potomac so you should check.

I think your MD boat license is good on the tidal Potomac up to the Beltway Bridge.
