Congratulations! Great way to end the year.
Set out yesterday for the river on the last trip of the season, hoping to find that elusive large fish (at least for me). Lines in at 8:15 and 8 minutes later had a 26" in the box - off to a good start. Fished for another 3 hours, picking up 22", 23", and 24" fish - but back they went, as I was looking for something better.
11:42 am, and fish on - this one is definitely larger but will it be above the slot this time? Got the fish to the boat - but could only see mouth and tail. Got the grips on the fish, and up and over into the boat it went - 42" of fish. Weighed in at 35 lbs (unofficial) - so finally got that big fish of the season! The fleet was between 6 and 8, so I headed upriver from 8 about 2 miles and picked up this beauty - far away from the other boats.
Congratulations! Great way to end the year.
Yes, congrats. No luck here, but I was not willing to travel as far. Boat is too thirsty:)
We were at the mouth of the Rapp for a while, trolled amongst the seagulls down around Red 2 and 3R. Went out towards the cut but saw nothing so I didn't go all the way. Still a nice day though. Very calm.
Congrats on the big fish! We fished the same area today. Heard of some nice fish being caught, we put 3 24" in the box. Nice way to end the season, don't think I'll be out tomorrow. Happy New Year!
