    Default SST Online vs Oceantemp

Does anyoine use the SSt online service? Likes, Dislikes etc?

Ihave been using Oceantemp and have been very satisified, although they do not support the iPhone or Ipad, SST online does. Thinking of using the iPad on the boat.

Paul, I have oceantemp and been thinking the same thing. I do like the sample shot on sst online. I wonder if someone could put a current shot of sst online, then I will put the same shot from oceantemp so we can do a side-by-side comparison of the same water from the same day.

Here is today's oceantemp shot. Zoom in the shot you want, control print screen copies the image to the clipboard. Open Paint. Paste. Crop image to size, save as JPEG and upload to photobucket. If someone has a shot of sst online for the shot from 5 Jan 12 that would be great to do a comparison of the same water. BTW...the water looks fantastic. Makes me want to run offshore but then again we can catch big BFT 2 miles off the beach right now.

SST had a trial period last year that I used on my iPhone and it was nice. I called the Oceantemp people and asked the question if they supported the iPhone. They use flash on their site so it's not compatible for the iPhone or iPad.

I can obviously print it to a PDF and send to my drop box app to use it, but SST has a functioning app so I will probably give SST a try this year.

I spent a lot of time on the Clearshot(mike's boat) this past summer mating and must say the Ipad with SST stuff is the Shizz.

We were in the Baltimore one nice summer day and mike was watching a pretty piece of blue water about 10 mile offshore
About lunch time we headed that way, and I was watching the Ipad the whole time, I'll be damned if it put was spot on And it looked as pretty in person as on the screen.

I purchased a pad just for there service, a must in my mind. Instant detailed map and as the other guy said mike is addicted to
    posting great shots.

The service is also very affordable plus the software is well developed.

Ill ask mike if he's ok with me posting a shot.

What's the advantage to the IPAD vs a printout once offshore. Can't get internet service on the canyons so the shot is the last shot from home.

With the IPAD/IPHONE app you can navigate real-time on the sat shot. It uses the built in GPS so you don't need internet connection. But like you said it's still the last shot that you downloaded that morning.

BTT. Any other input here? Ocean Temp has an early renewal of $119 if done by 6 Feb 12 or it's $149 per year after that. If SSTOL is the clear winner then may switch to them as theirs is also $149 per year.

    Default SST Online

    Hi guys,

Here is a link to the sample pages of our web site http://www.sstol.com/Sample_Intro.htm. Last year we introduced the iPhone and HD iPad apps that have been a great success. We are putting the final touches on an Android app that will be available in about 3 weeks. The apps are only $.99 cents and members can log in with their same username and password and download the most current chart anywhere they have internet access (up to 10 miles offshore for us on Verizon). The apps then track your boat position just like a chart plotter right on our detailed HD SST charts anywhere offshore. There is no comparison to our HD charts versus the low resolution merged imagery you get with Sirius XM weather - we have both on our boat and compare them all the time.

We will be at the Ocean City, MD boat show Feb. 17-19 and the show special price will be $119 and you get a free SST Online T-Shirt! If you can't make the show shoot me an email and I will honor the boat show price for Tidal Fish Members up to March 1st.

Thanks and have a great season!
