    Thanks for corroborating my recollection of the tourney entry, Jeff. I was beginning to think I'd had an extra beer at a meeting and was making things up.

    I agree with everything you mentioned - - keep the "club" simple and informal and it's a lot less trouble for all involved. If we start having formal membership requirements and a lot of other rules, next thing you know, we'll need bylaws, articles of association, and we'll be paying taxes!! Our simple "bloodless coup" every couple of years seems to work pretty well for sticking a couple of people with the task of organizing this rowdy bunch.

    I never would have thought that this much response would have been given to my simple question.

    Its good to see the back ground.

    Im in for the next meeting and will buy a round of beers for whoever is there "on time". So make sure you get there early!!!

    Thanks to all and I look forward to fishing with everyone out here in the group.

    I, as well as Clancy, joined by entering a tourney in which the weigh in was in fact at the aforementioned Sean's dock. Sorry to hear that he may no longer be with us. Informal was always the key. Heck I know of a lot of a few guys who stopped coming when we started sitting down at tables. That's how informal it was. Lots of good times over the years and, I'm sure, lots to come. Jeff do you still have the Clancy's Nancy's picture?

    After reading the previous posts in this thread, I decided to use my powers as SRRKC president to clarify the lifetime membership qualifications. The SRRKC was conceived as an informal organization without many rules. We allow a wide range of strange characters to join (just look around the table at the next meeting). In order to become a lifetime member, a prospective member can do one or both of the following:

    a) buy a round of drinks for all members in attendance at a meeting at the time the round is ordered (this makes a strong incentive to get to a meeting early and buy a round as soon as the first other member shows up);

    or

    b) pay an entry fee for any official SRRKC tournament.

    Once you join, you remain a member for life, unless you denounce the organization and cancel your membership. Hopefully this makes things clearer and allows for a minimal investment to join a highly prestigious organization.

    Heck, SRRKC even accepted Virginians from another land!
