Forecast still looks. I usually keep my raidio on scan. I'll be a Royal Farms around 8:00. I'll be in a 24' Whaler.

I want to thank Dr Don for the call yesterday putting me on the fish. We had a lot of fun out there. It was awesome watching you catching them with a fly rod too! I hope I can return the favor some day. Hopefully we can get one more shot this weekend. I will let you know if I'm going. Thanks again!

Doc I saw you guys at the ramp right after I pulled out. Didn't realize it was you or would've said hello. Noticed the fly rod in the boat too. I have a couple 9 wts and used to love catching rock on them but have yet to work out a solid way of keeping them on the boat so they're handy yet not in danger of getting broken. How do you store yours when running?

    Default Fly Rods

I carry two 10 wt all the time. One with a small thin popper (the rock tend to not go after larger poppers) and a floating line, and one with a white and chart. clouser with a very quick sinking line. I also tend to put one line size up from what the rod calls for. There is room to keep them up under the gunnels on my boat. With more than two people it is hard to use a fly rod. Yesterday was a rare day with birds, fish, and no real wind. I used the rod with a clouser almost the whole day and caught everytime we came back to the birds. I need to invest in an antireverse reel, Ithink I left a few knuckles out there on some of those first runs. I does make it nice to have a few boats working together to find them. We saw nothing at IOW, then to the bass grounds, then to where we saw you. NOTHING in between, and we did not see anything on the ride back. Hope you guys caught em up.

By the way did you get checked by the DNR at the ramp. He was checking licenses and reg since it is the start of a new year. He said there were still blues being caught (my fav on a fly rod). We had nothing on our boat so we were fine.
