    Default WV Trout Fishing

Spent 4 days after Christmas fishing at Harman's Cabin celebrating my brothers 60th birday. I've heard a lot of nice things about this place and it didn't disappoint. We rented a 8 person and a 6 person cabin and the accomadations were awesome! This is a privately stocked stream and despite the fact that we were there months after their last stocking, we still caught some very nice trout! It's great to be able to walk out of your cabin, spend a few hours fishing and run back to your hot tub! We also visited a WV state trout farm. Great people there and showed us their whole operation.

Nice. So this area is private? Only open to lodge costumers? I didn't knwo they had 6 and 8 person cabins. The ones I stayed in were the honey moon variety with only a heart shaped hot tub and a single bed. Classier than you would think. It wasjust my wife and I. They had a 10 foot wide private spring on the property that was loaded with giant trout. Then about a 100 yard walk you could be on the N. Fork fo the South Branch. Now I'm begining to wonder if I have the names confused.

Harmans Cabins sits on the North Fork of the South Branch. It is private property and I think they some how block influx and efflux from river floating down the stretch. Of course in the summer when I wen there was no floating as thewater levels were so low. They have a decent stretch of property they stock with really biggish trout. I stayed there 2 summers ago for 2 days and it was actually really nice. A big cabin and a hottub. I fished the stream but also ended up hiking Seneca creek for some wild rainbows too. they are located in a spot open to short day trips actually if you want to do stuff.

Yeah, this streatch is open only to guests of the lodge and catch and release only. They did not have a private spring so it must a different nearby place. They also have smaller cabins for 2 but the ones we stayed at were huge complete with flat screen TV, fireplaces, washer/dryer, full kitchen, and a game room.
