Yellow perch - lots of fish, but all small

I am posting this here partly to publicize the two new Stickys that I added last week (the bragging rights leaderboards for the largest and smallest fish of any species caught by an SRRKC member). If you catch a fish species not already listed or catch a larger fish than the one already listed, please send me the details and I will update the table.

I fished from my kayak at Perryville (mouth of the Susquehanna) today. I had been meaning to try the yellow perch bite there. I can add my voice to the chorus complaining that the big fish are not yet schooled up. I caught several dozen small perch up to about 8" today. I measured one particularly small ned for the smallest-fish leaderboard. It barely made 7".



The other fish I caught today were not a whole lot longer, and all were skinny. None of them are big enough to put on the largest fish leaderboard. Most were caught on live minnow, but I caught others on three different types of small soft plastics.
