Way to go, glad you got into them and thanks for the report
Left Little Creek at 7 am with 4 aboard. After being skunked on three previous attempts and armed with the information gathered from the "old salts" posting to this forum, we were determined this would be the day we get the skunk off the boat. A friend who lives on the beach front and owns a telescope was providing intel as to where the fleet was located and where the birds were working. So of course we fly right past Cape Henry (aka easy pickens) and head to Dam Neck. Once we find the fleet and the birds, we start our troll, which apparantly was the que for the fleet and the birds to head north!
After waiting the appropriate amount of time to reconsider why I do this, we drug up and headed north to about 10th Street. Meanwhile our "Beach front intel guy" apparantly frustrated with our inability to follow directions, jumps in his boat, drives to the 3 mile line just south of Rudee's and picks up a nice 44" Striper in no time. Guess he showed me!
It's probably obvoius what we did next. I should have just went out with him. Anyway that move worked, we got the skunk off the boat and proceeded to land 5 nice striper and had a great day on the water.
In the late afternoon, the radio chatter changed to "come to Cape Henry for all the fish you can catch". It was nice to be able to ignore that call.
I do have one question though, does the three mile line move when the coast guard shows up? At one point I set up at what I thought was the line according to my radar range finder and saw at least a hundred boat to my east. After catching a fish, I looked up and saw no boats to my east except the Coast Guard. I just want to make sure my range finder is working.
Anyway, thanks to all you loyal Tidal Fish Posters for all the great information, pics and fishing reports. We used a set up from Dr. Ball's website and other info from this site. Thanks again we will do our best to return the favor.

Sorry, should have mentioned it was Saturday.
Line doesn't move only the captains do ...........
Thanks for the great report and pictures!
Sounds and looks like a great day out there. Check the Tidal Fish Homepage under the Virginia Fishing Report, your picture made it to the homepage.
Looking forward to your next trip report![]()
The 3 mile line has a 'Fishermans Variable" which is a deviation used when the law enforcement is NOT around. Once the 'good guys' show up, we correct our 3 mile line to where it should be 15,840 feet from the sand. If you were watching, its almost funny watchning the boats scurry like kids caught being bad...........
