    Default CBBT on the Fly

Had a decent day this past week fly fishing the CBBT. As those of you who have cast a fly in those waters know, the current can be relentless when trying to get a fly deep to the fish. Most times, unless there is surface activity, the fly fisher is relegated to the islands. We hit the change of tide when we first arrived and were able to pick off some nice rockfish around the pilings - about twenty feet down - using Rio T-14 shooting heads, or the equivalent. Once the current really started to roll we caught fish around the rock structures of the islands. It can be tough fishing on the fly at times but the reward is worth the effort. Great day on the water with two excellent fly fishermen.
