absolutely 24 volt minimum though, prolly 80lb. min. as well minn-kota have some very nice ones with 25' cord electric steer also remote control run from anywhere in the boat check out the riptide they are for salt water use and will hold up better
I have a 21' Triumph that we use on the bay. I live in the mountains and my grandson would like to do some lake fishing.(a lot closer to home) I was thinking about putting an electic motor on the bow. Would this be a good idea? Thanks for any imput.

How well do the remote control units work? Does it have a foot control?

You can get an optional foot control if that's in your comfort zone.
Looked at the Riptide St 80# Called Minn Kota about bow rail clearance I have 12" was told I need 14" to deploy the motor. Any ideas on how to raise the rail?
give us a pic.....most rails have T style fittings. First thing comes to mind is cut the rail between two of the T fittings , convert T fittings to 90 degree fittings, may or will probably require an extra cut to get plumb. leaving an opening for motor deployment.. Then add some rod holders to the rail and take that youngin fishing.....

I got a Riptide 80,built a SS platform to mount it on,cut the bow rail in the front and returned each side back to the deck.
Now we are ready to learn how to fresh water fish
