Do you have an example of a letter you are sending. These nets really make it difficult for the rest of us.
Thanks for posting.

Hey Tom!
Thanks for the update on this net! I'll be sure to let Bill know that you guys are "wishing him much success" with his new net... With his 1st child soon to be born any day now, I'm sure he will be pleased to know the people on this board are "wishing him well"... It was very nice of you to post the GPS coordinates as well so as to make it much less "difficult" for the anglers like Daydreamer.
Thanks!!!

Don't give the man grief for posting a public notice in a public space. If you want the VMRC to stop providing the public with the opportunity for notice and comment on government action, feel free to take it up with them, and good luck.

Read the words again.... No grief... only appreciation...
We hit a net in that location 20 years ago racing sailboats at night. NO light on any of the poles. By rule, are the supposed to display a light?
You would think that a light would be a requirement, but I'm pretty sure it's not.
I have been posting these notices (i.e. copying them from the VMRC web page) for the past several years.
Sometimes there are objections others there are not. I am just making sure that the public is aware of the locations so that they can voice their concerns. Sometimes VMRC directs the applicant to make adjustments. Seldom are they denied a permit.
They are seldom denied a permit because there is hardly ever a valid reason not to. They are a normal and accepted fishing practice. If you hit one, its your own fault for not keeping a safe speed and maintaining a proper navigational watch and lookout. End of story.
