Better question, how did they build that lighthouse? Makes the stuff from deadliest catch look like a walk in the park.

I just read some stuff on that. A few of those lighthouses are over near France. They were built only during low tide during calm portions of the year.

Looked like a 5-7' chop, on top of a 40' swell, spaced 6 seconds apart -

I bet the striper we're snapping that day.

Have you ever seen Deadliest Catch behind the seines? With the boat there probably was a camera boat doing the filming.

I went out but came back in because I forgot the net. By the time I made past the breakers the bite was over. Ha!

    Smile I rremember!

I looked at that Video and it brought me back to the day while I was on the Albert T Harris a reserve training ship that was put back into the regular navy during the Cuban Crisis. We had tried to out run a Hurricane and took a beating.
Engineering watches had to stay on watch and could not be relieved.Box lunches had to be delivered via life line on 2nd deck to laders to get down below as there was no passageway fwd & aft on that ship. The Forward Gun mount had lifted from it's mount seal and water was coming into the handling room. The bucket birgade taking the water to the chief's head to get rid of.The forward bulkhead behind it was buckled.
The twin gun mounts on both sides of the ship gone. The glass or whatever that was up on the bridge shattering and splintering showering the watch which had to be relieved due to injuries. We had to come in to Norfolk for the injured and repairs. If we had lost 1 of the 2 boilers on that ship we may not have survived the beating we took.
Similiar wave actions to that military ship in the Video, what a ride it was and scary on that little ship in that "Big bath wash Tub called the Atlantic Ocean.
