Mid atlantic board says fish moving north...Va board says fish up around Nneck, Bluefish Rock..for the bay, fish hovering around C/henry, not the hot bite south at Oregon Inlet, WTH?

lack of cold weather which equals warmer water, so they don't push as far to the South like they did last year when it was much colder. The bait is here because the water is warmer , so the fish stay with their food source. Same reason I suppose all the whales are here and all the BFT catches

The bite has been so spotty lately. Must be they all got on the same every-other-day feeding schedule.

Any reports from Smith Island area? Looking to avoid the flotilla...

There was an INCREDIBLE bird show on the ocean side of the 2nd island yesterday... but no fish under'em. Then, when driving over to Oyster, there was a HUGE mass of birds working just off Fisherman's Island... I mean HUGE. The "clock" is ticking, they're going to start moving north. Maybe a cold snap, or a snow in the upper bay (cold water run-off) will push'em south again?

What mystifies me is why fish are running north along delmarva...I can see the bay. Are those fish along the delmarva a population that doesn't spawn in the bay tribs but rather further north? Inquiring minds wanna know.

With all these 20 degree temp swings we are having from day to day I think the fish are just as confused as we are.

Yes, there are fish off the VA coast that migrate up the coast versus the bay.

Mike was cruising back to Solomons from CBBT last Wednesday and got into a nice school of striper right off Windmill Point outside the Rappahannock. He reeled in quite a few high 20's to mid 30's. Biggest were a 38" and 43".
