Very Light Tackle Action on Potomac River

Went out today for a couple of hours targeting YP in some of the creeks off the Potomac. Nothing in the YP family but got a nice mess of crappie. Here is the biggest one. They were hitting in 12 feet of water on a water melon gulp on a 1/4 oz jig head. Weather was beautiful and I was using my ultra-light with 4 pound test.

A lot of fun and a great day to spend an afternoon not at work!

Congratulations!! It’s always nice to get something this time of year. Were you on the MD side again?

The fish were all caught on the Virginia side this time. I did also try near the Fairview Beach light but didn't get anything.

Nice work steve. never even pulled the boat out this winter. need to go after some slabs myself. Fyi i caught a few yellers at the deep hole by red #10 wading from the shore sunday. go get em
