    The bottom line is time on the ocean. I would recommend going on a charter or three to get a feel of how it is done. You will learn more in one day doing that than you will in an entire season on your own. Most boats, mine included, will teach you as we go through the day all you have to do is ask. It is a big part of the entertainment side of taking charters. As far as networking, it is critical as location in the end is almost everything, and rigging, although very critical, takes a distant second. Once you put both of those pieces together in a single day it will become a day to remember.
