It does not take long to remember why myself and many others no longer post on this site, and YES in Virginia it is very rare to see scrapes still being worked this late in the year

Well foxwind, I have been a member since 2003 and it just so happens that I changed my username over time to GMCfish, apologies for the late clarification

And no I am not going to waste my time explaining deer activity to people like you who are on this site just to try and 1 up other posters

I will say this though, I have been in the stand the last two weekends bowhunting and I have seen second leg rut activity going on, the young fawns seem to be in estrous and Bucks are still hanging solo, scrapes are fresh with activity and rub lines are being walked by solo tecs

it is suprising to me to not see everyone(all deer) hanging out this time of year, ecspecially the bucks hanging together but the amount of lone fawns I have seen on the move is just ridic

In other words there is still estrous in the air and the testosterone level in the bucks is still up!!! Isn't that what i said?? And ok, weather might be a factor if you live up north or in the mid-west but the mid-atlantic region has pretty mild winters. I think the biggest factor in our region is the buck to doe ratio which is so out of wack.

If deer are still breeding there will be some running around with spots next hunting season.

OK this thread may have the most blatant example of 'failure to connect the dots'.

    Thank you GMCfish for trying....

Keep in mind, GMCfish was also the guy telling us all there were no pintails in VA in August/September!
You'd do well to heed his limitless knowledge of hunting......
