    I am surprised this has not happened sooner given the amount of Whales that are around this year.

    Although sad news, it sounds like the cause was from a cargo ship vs. rec angler....
    A true lose regardless, but keeps the PETA-flakes off of the recreational anglers....

    That is sad. Seems that is was a different type of whale than the migrating Humpbacks and Rights. That supports the theory that is came in on the bow of a cargo-type ship. A Sei whale got all the way to Baltimore that way.

    Who cares it's a dead whale we go out everyday on a direct mission to kill fish, deer, birds etc then we want to cry about a single whale, stuff happens NOT news worthy

    Learn to swim a little faster if you want to live...

    Save my 100k in tax dollars your going to spend on a necropsy and all the other whale csi crap and chop her up and make some lamp oil, be done with it,

    Put a free sign next to it and see what happens. Any relocated Alaskans living in the area, they would know how to handle it. LOL

    Alaskans or nantuketers, this country was lit by whale oil until what's his name flew a kite with a key on it, Edison something...
