Hey Folks, I'm thinking about buying a boat from All Star Marine on the Middle River? Does anyone have any good or bad comments to make about the Marina? I'm looking for some reviews. Thanks
I had a bad experience attempting to purchase a boat from there but I have heard others say good things. I wanted to buy from there because they were close to me but they were not willing to work with me. I let them know I would keep my boat there and all. They literally told me they could knock $50 dollars off of a 38k boat and that was all they could budge. I ended up getting a newer boat waaaayy cheaper with better options from another dealer. Just my experience.
I have extensive experience with All Star. Several years ago they had a salesman that was not very friendly. He is no longer there. Today, the son (Dave) and the father (Al) are the only two salesmen.
My boat is a 2001 and has been serviced (no major problems/ just routine maintanice) at AllStar since new. I have never had a bad experience with them. Last fall, I had my boat detailed there, and when I went to pick it up, I wasn't happy with the way it looked. I walked in to the office and told Dave. He said he didn't even have to look at it, if I wasn't happy, he would have the yard help do it again. I went for lunch and when I came back, it was spotless.
The mechanic (Mike) has always serviced my boat. If I have a problem during the year (O2 sensor and VST filter needed changed) he gets me in and out either the same day or the next. Once, I ran "slightly" aground down at St Jeromes Creek, and wanted my water pump replaced when I trailered home. I took it over and asked Mike to get it back to me as soon as possible (I figured in a couple days). He said back it up to the shop and lets do it now. It had some sand in there, so I was glad it got done quickly.
I don't know what your buying experience will be, but I give them as much credit as any boat dealer around. I don't keep my boat at their yard or in their slips. It's not that they are making a ton of money off me, as routine service is not going to keep their business afloat.
All I can say is give them a serious shot.

I bought a Sea Hunt from them 8 years ago and I've never gone back. They were the absolute worse people to deal with. I love my Sea Hunt but if I were to buy another one I would definitely buy elsewhere. I refuse to be All Stared again. That last sentence sums it all up! BEWARE!!!
I bought a leftover Sea Hunt BX-22 bay boat and got a great deal. At the time I knew they were the place to go to for a good deal and for warranty issues but I had heard that their service sucked. I had to take my boat back several times and they always fixed what was wrong. On my own doing I go to Beacon Light for service on my Yamaha.
