islamorada lodging

Headed to the Keys for the first time this May...planned on stopping in islamorada to fish for a day or two. Can anyone recommend a hotel to stay in close proximity to bud and marys? Has anyone stayed at bud and marys?

Im not picky, so it doesnt have to be fancy, just somewhere to crash for the night is all. Any recommendations/suggestions would be appreciated. I see plenty of places after googling, just hoped to narrow my search a little...

I am staying at Bud n Marys in may for the first time. If you stay there please post back how it was. I am looking forward to waking up in the morning walking out the front door to the boat.

Finatic Jason -I ended up staying at Chesapeake Resort instead of bud n Mary's... I did walk around the marina yesterday in the rain and saw the shanties and boat houses-not bad, and for 99 a night, go for it...I paid double that plus change for a place that replaced the word 'Motel' with 'Resort'...

bfox......Thanks for the heads up. It seemed like alot of the places around were pretty high and reviews were iffy unless you were spending big bucks. Our trip is 6 guys looking to fish and drink. I think Bud n marys will suit us fine.

Check this site out www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). A wide range of places to stay. And, for a group of 6, it'll be cheaper than a few rooms @ 99.00 each. We usually stay at Futura Yacht Club a bit north of Islamorada. Check out the Key Colony Beach rentals... great central location.
