Great pics Brian and you can bet the remark about them watching you is correct. With the 8 reactors it is one of the fastest ships in the US Navy, hard to imagine something that big making better than 40 kts. American Shipbuilding at it's finest.

Great pics Brian. I was serving on the USS Springfield (CLG-7), Sixth Fleet Flag Ship when the Big E made her first depolyment to the Med.
Telling my age now.

Brian, nice pics as always. Brings back memories, she was my first ship(93-97) caught her in the yards and did my first deployment on her. It's truely and end of an era, she's one of a kind...literally.
