from careys bridge to peters bridge is nice but from peters up to rt40 is a beautiful stretch of river, starts getting clearer and more sandy and rocky, Were you fishing that slight bend in the current? those 2lb shad sure do fight good on light tackle, but i do not target them as i do not like shad roe... Thanks for the report, thats one great stretch of river for fly fishing for bass and bream in the summer when the water gets low

Came over the bridge in Franklin yesterday (Blackwater river) and a few boats were fishing there.
Dogwood trees are in full bloom so I'm thinking they are looking for the white perch.
Mid March seems alittle early for them but with the air temps like they are who knows.
Haven't been shad fishing for many years.
