Notes: Thanks to the Clerk of the Court for Talbot. They were kind enough to send part of the docket for NR Trials. Only three cases were reported. Do not know why so few cases were heard. Maybe there was another sheet that got lost. Still this is progress, this is the first we have asked for info, and the Clerk promptly sent it.. Thank You.

Granger does not understand the waterfowl violations, someone please explain, significance. Perhaps the violations are minor, and these fines are reasonable. Please speak out, good or bad is fine. Thank you.

Apparently the Judge was not sympathetic with Tarleton, the guilty verdict means he gets the "points". I can bet that Officer Rafter was convincing, he probably had his small oyster measuring pot, in the courtroom. Officer Rafter was a waterman before he became an NRP Officer.

Note that [in my opinion] the undersize oyster issue is not arbitrary, as some have stated. The dnr officers have special equipment which operates rather precisely, by volume. Here is how they measure and count: The undersized oysters [ in a bushel ] are placed in a "holding pot" if the pot overflows, there are too many/ smallies per bushel. The "pot" is about the size of a six pint saucepan. Some of the officers bring them to court, that is how granger learned these things.

Best regards to all, especially the 201 leather skinned DNR Officers, who are trying to protect the Bay.
