fishing for yellowtail on the outer edge today. fished in 9o ft of water . yellowtails were picky today. grunts, mainly. caught a real nice trigger fish. caught 1 yellowtail. they were all under the boat but they were spooky or picky or i don't know what. also caught a porgy. weird thing today was my daughter reeled up a remora eel like you see sucked onto the bottom of big sharks. kids were thinking there was a BIG shark down below.

fun, except hung the freaking anchor and couldn't get it back. west marine in the morning.

Just recieved a call today from "Capt Hank Conley" normally Hank operates the 45' "Carrie Sue" out of Solomons MD.
Hank takes his 26' cat "Shorty" down and winters in "Key colony Beach" just across vaca Cut from Marathon.
Capt Hank called from 10 miles out to thank me for the outriggers I provided him, by telling me about the 2 Wahoo and the Blackfin Tuna he boated this morning.
I don't know if you have the equipment for that type of fishing with you, but there's his report for today.

Myself I sit up here just off South Mountain consumed with envy for both of you.

piscophile, thanks for intel. tried marathon hump yesterday with no success. i had 4 rockfish trollsticks and 3 kids and a wife who got queasy. it was near impossible to clear the weed off the lines and drive at same time. i don't think that marathon hump area is all that big of an area and there were some boats trolling and some boats drifting with live baits out. it was a little hectic by myself so i gave up after an hour. took the kids back to calm water back in 15 ft near the dock and bailed grunts for 2 hours. they loved it.
