LW, what size would be of interest. I'll go through what I have and see if there is a match.

Boon doogle, why yes that "uglier than a burnt snake" JT means a lot to me. Well, HE doesn't mean a lot to me, but damn it I am trying to tell a story here and you and grumpy are ruining it for everyone. You been hanging out with FT any recently?

Another fly reel would be like another hole in my head, but who couldn't use another hole right??? So, send me some ideas of things you may want to get rid of and I might be able to give them a nice home.

I love my Lamson Litespeed. I have a 3.0 also and it handles steelhead very well. I alos have a few Ross Evolution's but I like the finish on the Lamson for saltwater.

Don't get me wrong at all. I like the lamsons, bauer, billy pate's, hell on my spey rod I throw a hardy salmon #3. He was asking if the SA2 is a decent reel for up there. For those that have not been to Alaska, Alaska will take the finish off the best reels. Plus most times a spare spool is almost 3/4 the price of reel. SA spools are cheap and it is always nice to have a spool of sinking line ready to go.

lamson litespeed 3.0 is my go to saltwater and big game freshwater reel. like others have said, alaska will wear the finish off the reel, but lamsons seem to hold up pretty well there.

im not a fan of orvis reels bc orvis is known to change the specs on their reels and then spare spools wont fit. if you are going to go the route of calling manchester for a refurbished orvis reel like a previous poster suggested, make sure to get the number of the factory store and not the flagship store. they are located within walking distance of each other, but the flagship store doesnt sell refurbished gear. better yet, take a trip to the stores, theyre a ton of fun!

good luck with whatever reel ya get!

I purchased a Nautilus NV for my 9 wt Sage rod about 3 years ago. Great reel, very smooth drag, very good stopping power, i would buy again! Closed drag system, super smooth, I put hurting on a 40lb tarpon with it. Caught some bones and plenty of rock on that reel. No maintenance. Check em out, you wont be disappointed.
