HDS5 Installation

I took the plunge and bought an HDS5 gen2 w/structure scan and am at my final stage of installation....the transducers ....and this is where i could use some advice the book says keep the sonar transducer at least a foot from the lower unit and keep the two as close together as possible for best overlay function,to do this im gonna have to mount one of them close to the trim tab ( within 6inches or so ) which one should it be and will turbulance from here affect my images ??? any pointers or tricks and tips will be much appreciated.

Mount the SS transducer below the 2d transducer.Mine are mounted about 5" apart and work just fine.
