Default Are the shad in the Potomac yet? Bird report

Drove over Chain Bridge today, and the river seems to be in great shape, but I saw no cormorants, no gulls, no herons, and no ospreys, all of which says to me that the fish aren't there yet either.

The Potomac is straight Hersheys syrup right now! Looks darker than last week. It'll be awhile before it clears and comes down to the 4' range...

Tuesday morning, Potomac flow graphs all the way up to Paw-Paw are looking grim and still climbing sharply. Way higher then last week's rain that fell on fairly dry soils. This is going to take a while to work through the system.

Now when I jump of the Key Bridge in despair, I won't have so far to fall.

    Mharton,

When you are ready to jump, let me know -- we can do it together.

The Little Falls gauge just breached 10 ft -- it's officially a flood! Maybe if we get 10 days of dry or virtually dry weather we might still have a shad fishery this year. But the chances of that happening in April......

    Ugh!
