How close, or far, sboild the line be from the boat? This will be run on a very light 16' skiff if it matters. Does it work to keep the line tight to the boat and reach over to net? First time running a line, appreciate the help.

You line should be about 2 feet from the boat and about a foot off the water. Most dip from the boat side of the line so you need some room.................Gary

When I made my prop stick out of 2" PVC, I made sure I could get my net between the boat and line, with a few inches to spare.
