With Deer Creek out of the question for the weekend, I was thinking of heading up to Hunting Creek near Thurmont to try and take advantage of the catch & release area. Does anyone have any advice on fishing this section of the creek? Are there good hatches going off now?

any size suggestions? should I just use it as a dropper, or nymph it?
I haven't seen HC since the recent rain. But its my guess its flowing med/heavy and fairly clear. Also take along some little black and little brown stonefly dries, size #16 or so in case you run into any surface activity. Similar fluttering caddis should also work.
I fished upper Owens Creek on Tuesday in heavy, clear flow. Caught 6 brookies up to 9.5" on unnamed streamer while moving downstream. Saw lots of brand new, 1" young-of-year brookies in the shallows. Looks like a good hatch so far and the hatch is still on going.
If we don't get anymore rain, Deer Creek could be good by tomorrow. I've done well there when the water is stained. Fish bright flies and get well below the surface. I think that's where I'm going this weekend if the rains keeps the flow under 400cfs.
