Fished it a bunch this spring (any many past years) and I have never seen one. Its a big river and there are many strange things that live in it though. About where on the river were you?
I went WP fishing in the pocomoke river lastnight , catching perch left and rite when somthing else other that a perch doubled the rod over and started riping drag , figured a big pickeral or catfish .. but when i finally played him to the boat it was a snake head about 20 incehes or so long , went to try and get him in the boat and my little gold walmart perch hook failed and broke , splash back in the river he goes so no picture but possitive it was a snake head...
my question is, has snake heads been confirmed in the Pocomoke River...?

I would report to DNR...
"You're gonna need a bigger boat"-Police Chief Brody..
I haven't heard of any snakeheads being caught there. Is it possible what you hooked was a bowfin? At a glance the two species do look a fair bit alike, more so than any other two fish species that would be in the area.
They've been found in the Nanticoke according to DNR.

Anadromous fish come and go, but catfish stay forever.

With the amount of fresh water in the Bay and rivers in 2011, the snakeheads could have traveled anywhere in the Bay watershed. I would not be surprised to see them anywhere.
