Default Great Bait Debate--natural or artificial for seaside flounder?

In the lower bay, it's all about the artificials--twister tails, fake shrimp, "if it ain't chartreuse it ain't no use" and of course the stinkies--anything in Gulp juice.
On the seaside I've spent 50 years dragging the squid/minnow sandwich on the double bottom. Shiners, when I get them, outfish the minnows.
Now I'm hearing conflicting reports; the gulps are outfishing the unscented and natural; flounder attack pink lures; stick with the squid/minnow on bare hooks.

So what's the collective wisdom and opinions of you all who frequent the marshes?

So lets just say u had a choice of 1 "bait"...given that it would definitely be a gulp product.

I should have included that in the choices; I'd call that "natural bait" along with squid

I'm more and more in the Gulp school, but still like to have natural on board, usually shiners.
