Default Soda blasting and bottom paint advice.

We need to get the bottom cleaned up and painted and I have never worked with a blasting company and would like recommendations on people that work on boats. In addition to that I’ve never loved the paint jobs that I have gotten in the past so I am looking for a painter too. I am in Elkridge but the boat is on a trailer so I can get to wherever. Thanks folks.

I used Choptank Soda Blasting (William) 410.822.3990. I have a 246SF World Cat which he did for 300$. I believe he paints as well. He is between Easton and Preston. He did a fine job, only issue w/my boat was I aint putting paint back on her and it turns out the original owner barrier coated the bottom which soda blasting will not remove. So I then had my fiberglass guy sand the epoxy off and then he compounded and buffed the hull. Mine turned out great but the upper part of the hull is slightly more discolored than lower which he said will dimish in time. I gained 0 kts and am saving 0$ after doing all this FWIW.

X2 for Choptank Soda Blasting. Follow up with Interlux Interprotect Barrier System before bottom paint. Follow Interluxs' instructions to the letter.

Awww - Just do it yourself!!! Get yourself a 24 pack of Coke or Pepsi cans...shake can very well...point can at hull...pull tab!!! Voila - you're soda blasted!!! BTW- dont waste any beer for this task!! Save them for refreshments while your painting...

Grab a few cans of Rustoleum and get to painting!!!

Good Luck and let me know how it works out for ya!! We wanna see some pics too...

I took my 28' Seamaster that had about 5 coats of hard ezpoxe on it to casa maria in edgewater. they used cheasapeake blasters then put on a barrier coat then 2 coats of micron CSC for $800 as far as im concerned it was worth it.
