lower Gunpowder

Went hickory fishing on the lower Gunpowder on Wednesday, 4-6-05. Flow was still about a foot too high and a couple of notches too murky for me. I was able to catch about 8 hickories although I had to work hard for them. All but 2 were very small bucks, about the size of jumbo herring. Also caught several wperch, only one was nice, 10.5", rest med/small. Snagged many gizzards, some were huge. No herring seen anywhere. I'd say the Gunpowder hickory run is just getting started.

For the lower Gunpowder to be as murky as it was, Loch Raven must be well off color throughout its length. Might take many days for the lower Gunpowder to clear.

when you say lower gunpowder, do you mean down near joppatowne? I had a lot of luck last year walking in to the gunpowder near Rt 7. Will have to check it out tomorrow.
