Revised Flats report

Very awesome read. The flats are a special place. This year has been fun, I have been lucky enough to mix some very nice fish in with all the schoolies. Best of all I have spent quality time with my kids out catching rockfish.

John - Thanks so much for posting, you summed-up my experience of the last few days more eloquently than I. We were up there from Thursday morning through Sunday (actually did not fish Sunday but broke camp). We camped at a friend's beautiful farm on the Sassafrass and fished hard Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I also have a boat that can go into the skinniest of water and saw hundreds of HUGE fish. We had four boats, eleven fisherman, at least thirty different lures and literally thousands of casts and caught only four fish 25" or better with nothing over 30". We occasionally would go feast on dinks to slake our need for pullage but quickly realized "why are we doing this" and would run all over creation looking for big fish. They were always up on the Flats. They were no where else. And they WOULD NOT EAT.
