Default Are there Striper in the Occoquan or the Potomac?

Has anyone been out fishing the Occoquan or the Potomac this week?
I haven't been out there yet this season but the little stripers (And an offacional lunker) are usally lurking around in there this time a year. It is a hoot to catch the lil' 'uns on a bass fishing rod. The trick is to flip a spinner bait toward bridge supports, let it fall, then retrieve. A rat-l-trap retrieved fast works well, too.
I wouldn't plan on taking a long trip to get there but if you live close to the Occ. and want to have some fun before/after work give it a shot. It is a lot of fun and I've caught an 18" in there before. I've heard rumors/reports of 40+ but never seen it, and I've spent A LOT of time on that river.
If you make it out there and have any luck, let me know. Im feeling a sick day coming on sometime before this weekend. (Fri.) Oh, but don't worry though, I'm sure I'll be feeling all better at O'-Dark-thirty Sat. morning. When I will depart from Centreville Va. and make my pilgrimage to the bay

I hope you do well at Occoquan. Unfortunately it has been mud city. I blame the overdevelopment around Gainesville and Loudoun county for it. Other problems include the construction activities, the usual crowd of bozos, and the unfriendly Fairfax County Water Authority. Not a pretty picture. It's my number one go to place but I think I'm going to spend more time on the Eastern Shore.
